Uribe debates what to do with all those frequent flyer miles
While the worst of his legal battles involving a shooting in his homeland seem to be behind him, White Sox shortstop Juan Uribe may have to make more trips to the Dominican Republic as the 2007 season wears on. Always the optimist, Uribe is focusing on the frequent flyer miles he'll continue to rack up while the legal system takes it course.
Sox miss playoffs, Sox fans riot anyway
Playoffs or no playoffs, Sox fans came out in droves to torch cars, loot retail stores and cause general mayhem all over the South Side upon hearing the news that their team has missed the playoff race. Although it is not uncommon for some sports fans to riot after their team captures a title, Sox fans need no apparent reason to cause destruction.
Sox all but eliminated over the weekend
Fighting desperately for a spot in the playoffs against division rivals Detroit and Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox were looking forward to a visit from the AL West-bottom-feeding Seattle Mariners this weekend. The expectation was that the four-game series against Seattle would help the Sox get their postseason campaign back on track.
Tigers and Twins lose, but so do Sox
The White Sox wasted a golden opportunity on Thursday night, falling hard to the Seattle Mariners, 9-0, at U.S. Cellular Field. The Sox failed to pick up ground as last night's slate of games also saw the AL Central-leading Tigers and AL Wild Card-leading Twins lose. The Sox trail Detroit by six games and Minnesota by 5.5 with just nine games remaining on the schedule.

A rare stellar effort by Javier Vazquez couldn't save the White Sox Tuesday night as Boston rookie pitcher Kason Gabbard threw seven shutout innings in a 1-0 Red Sox win. The White Sox also lost ground in the A.L. wild card race to the Twins, who rolled the Devil Rays 8-0 in Tampa.
