Sosa, Guillen feud heating up

Texas Rangers outfielder Sammy Sosa, who was booed loudly by the US Cellular Field Tuesday night, answered back with a three-run homer in the eighth inning. Sosa's ever-present hop, stutter-step before each base, and kisses to the camera in the dugout followed, and were not ignored by Sox manager Ozzie Guillen.

Mark Buehrle got his first win of the year Wednesday night, and it was a doozy.

White Sox give Sabathia a Jackie Robinson Day gift

C.C. Sabathia wore number 42 Sunday, as did more than 150 other players to honor of the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's first game for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Sabathia's show of reverence for the man who broke the color barrier did not go unnoticed by the Sox, who decided to give the Cleveland pitcher a Jackie Robinson Day gift, letting Sabathia get a win despite having his team only muster one hit.

A’s bullpen gives Sox late rally

When the Athletics put three on the board in the first inning Wednesday courtesy of a couple of RBI doubles from Mike Piazza and Eric Chavez, things looked pretty grim for the visiting Sox.

Sox fall 2-1 in the bitter end to A’s

It looked like the visiting South Siders were going to pull out a win in yet another low-scoring affair in Oakland yesterday. Closer Bobby Jenks took the mound in the bottom of the ninth with the Sox up 1-0 and the A's offense AWOL. The fans streaming out of the half-filled McAfee Coliseum clearly expected Jenks to quickly retire the side and hit the closest Jack in the Box for a few dozen cheeseburgers.

Hawk misses West Coast trip, fans denied obscure stories of former Red Sox players

White Sox color announcer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson did not make the trip to the West Coast for the three-game series with the Athletics, leaving former pitcher Jack McDowell to take his place. Although McDowell proved himself capable of handling the duties, many White Sox fans were upset they didn't get to listen in on Harrelson share with viewers his obscure ramblings, including random references to Red Sox players of the late 1960s.

Podsednik hits annual HR quota in Sox win

The White Sox took the first game of their series against Oakland Monday, notching a 4-1 victory in McAfee Coliseum. There were a couple of pleasant surprises for the team, in the form of solid performances from a pair of unlikely players.
