Prior to go back on the juice after rocky spring start

Nothing seems to be working for Mark Prior ever since posting an 18-6 record in 2003. Not only has the porcelain-based pitcher suffered through a multitude of injuries over the course of the past few seasons, but has had serious control issues the few times he's been healthy enough to take the hill. Monday was no exception, as Prior gave up four hits and three earned runs in only 1 1/3 innings in his spring training debut against the Seattle Mariners.

Prior sucks in spring debut

There are two ways to view Mark Prior's spring debut with the Cubs Monday.

Cubs non-roster clients thanked for supporting ‘Spring Fantasy Camp’

The Cubs announced the successful completion of the team's first annual "Spring Fantasy Camp" held concurrently during the first week of spring training games. Clients such as Micah Hoffpauir, Tyler Colvin and Casey McGehee paid $7,000 for the privilege of doing sit ups and wind sprints with Cubs stars like Derrek Lee and Alfonso Soriano.

‘Cactus’ Cubs remain winless after Sox romp

Spring is almost here-though you wouldn't know if you're a Chicago resident-and that means it's time for meaningless baseball games held thousands of miles away. The Cubs and White Sox kicked off their first week of Cactus League play by combining for six losses. Fortunately, the two teams faced off Sunday at HoHoKamPark in Mesa, Ariz., ensuring that one Chicago team would finally come away with a win.

ESPN fires Dusty after one hour on the job

Quick to hire deposed Cubs skipper Dusty Baker over the winter, ESPN was just as swift to cut ties with the former three-time NL Manager of the Year Thursday, canning him after only one-hour on the job.

Cuban denies he’s buying Cubs, but Hendry calls him ‘Mr. Cuban’ just to be...

A wildfire of speculation spread yesterday after an Internet rumor infamous billionaire and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was preparing a bid to buy the Cubs. Cuban quickly denied the rumor, but Cubs brass has decided to play it safe just in case a new owner takes control.

‘Old, bitter and crotchety’ Veterans Committee keeps Santo out of Hall again

Major League Baseball's Veterans Committee proved inept and worthless once again Tuesday, failing to elect a single member to the Hall of Fame for the third straight time. Denied once more was Cubs legend Ron Santo, who came up five agonizing votes shy of Cooperstown enshrinement. Santo will have to wait until 2009 to have his heart ripped out and stomped on again by the committee.
