Getting to know the Cubs’ potential buyers

Recently the Chicago Tribune published the three finalists in the bidding for the Cubs, who are expected to fetch about $700 million on the open market. Fan favorite Mark Cuban was not among them and the others are not well-known publicly. Here is a breakdown of each bidder and what their potential ownership by any means to Cubs fans.

Wrigley Field development to be called ‘Mediocrity Tower’

A Chicago developer unveiled plans in the city's Wrigleyville neighborhood earlier this week for a nine-story, mixed-use complex with a hotel that would stand virtually eye-to-eye with Wrigley Field. The new development, known as "Mediocrity Tower at Wrigley Field," would also contain about 150 residential units, about 100,000 square feet of commercial space on the land, plus a health club and 500 parking spaces.

Cubs Convention coat check mix-up results in Fontenot leaving with child’s jacket

A coat check mix-up at the Cubs Convention left a Cub confused and a small child coatless and freezing. Pint-sized Cubs infielder Mike Fontenot was mistakenly given the jacket of an 8-year-old girl when he turned in his claim check to retrieve his coat Friday.
