The Blackhawks added one more to their losing streak Friday night as the Minnesota Wild came to town to beat Chicago 5-2, putting the losing streak at eight. But Sunday night the Hawks were able to top the Nashville Predators in overtime, 3-2. It was a big win for the morale of the team.

There has been a lot of excitement in Chicago claiming the Blackhawks are on the rise. The billboards shout "Red Rising" all over the city. But here the Hawks are in 13th place in the Western Conference and currently riding a six-game losing streak--their longest of the season--after falling to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime last night 4-3.

"Seven games," said head coach Denis Savard referring to the current Blackhawks losing streak. "Seven mother-effing games. If this keeps going I'm gonna have to fire myself."

The Blackhawks will pick first in the 2007 NHL draft after winning the draft lottery held behind closed doors in Toronto. The lottery is supposed to be just that: a random lottery. But one anonymous NHL official we'll call Gary B. admitted that they were rigged.

The Chicago Blackhawks have finished yet another disappointing season. And while the prospects in their system are supposedly promising, it's hard for Hawk fans to get excited after being beat down the last decade.

The Blackhawks were able to sneak another victory last night and have now royally screwed up their draft pick after beating the Nashville predators 3-2 in a shootout.

It's hard to hope a Chicago team loses, unless it's the White Sox, but for Blackhawks fans, wins at this point hurt the team.
