Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp took home the NHL All-Star Game’s MVP award after scoring a record 15 goals in losing effort after his Team Staal lost to Team Lidstrom 32-29 in Raleigh, N.C. Sunday afternoon.
Sharp’s 15 goals broke the All-Star Game record set by Rangers winger Mike Gartner who scored 12 goals in the 1993 All-Star Game.
“I have to give credit to my linemates but I guess you could say I was feeling it today,” said Sharp. “I suppose it helps that no one ever plays defense in this game and that we got all the goalies good and drunk at brunch this morning.”
