White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen’s son made headlines Wednesday when he posted 16 Tweets ripping on former closer Bobby Jenks after he criticized Ozzie.
“That’s what I like about Oney,” said Ozzie of his 24-year-old son. “When he rip on someone he does it like a man on Twitter. Me? I usually rip them in the media. I could learn lots from Oney.”
Oney’s Tweets included such gems as “hahah memo to bobby jenks get a clue u drink to much and u have had marital problems hugeee ones and the sox stood behind u” and “u cried in the managers office bc u have problems now u go and talk bad about the sox after they protected u for 7 years ungrateful.” Ozzie said he appreciated the forthright nature of Oney’s posts.
“Sure, Oney is a little guy and Bobby Jenks could destroy him in a fight if he said stuff like that to his face,” said Ozzie. “But that’s why Oney is smart. He knows that Bobby Jenks is so drunk and stupid that he probably can’t even read. If he’d have ripped Bobby to a TV station like I would have then Bobby would have seen it in between episodes of Jerry Springer and he would want to fight Oney. That’s why Oney is so smart. A real man.”
