Millions will be watching as the battle for the Iron Throne culminates Sunday night, but the actors for the hit HBO series will be tuned in elsewhere.
When not on set or filming a scene, most GOT actors are in their trailers watching whatever baseball game they can get their eyes on. With many Cubs fans and a few scattered Nationals fans, this Sunday Night Baseball matchup is especially intriguing to the stars of Westeros. We sat down with a few of them to get their predictions.
Who wins the matchup: Cubs (Hendricks) or Nationals (Hellickson)?
Kit Harington (Jon Snow): Everyone knows I’m the biggest Cubs fan out there. Cubs win 9-0. Hendricks goes the distance, giving up an infield single, no walks and throws 69 pitches (laughs). Bryce Harper impressively manages to go 0-4 with 4 strikeouts–somehow still haunting those poor Nats fans.
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen): I hate the Cubs more than Sansa Stark hates Daenarys Targaryen. If the Cubs win the World Series again, hell will freeze over and the Night King will return to finish what he started. Mark my words, I’m the mother of fu***** dragons. Nats win 10-2.
Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth): I’m an O’s fan so I have no allegiances here. But I am a reasonable man, Cubs win 6-3. I know you didn’t ask but I’ll tell you anyway, the Orioles will lose their game on Sunday…and on Monday, and on Tuesday. I would like to see them play the Marlins though, that would be fun.
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister): I refuse to watch Cubs games ever since they got rid of Tommy LaStella. If “3AM” lived in Westeros he would have been on the Iron Throne in season one and he would have ruled peacefully for the past eight seasons. Love that guy. #3am.
