Former Northern Illinois QB and current Bears training camp hopeful Jordan Lynch has many doubting he will make an NFL team. However, Lynch’s latest accomplishment has raised hope for the hometown kid.

In the past few weeks, Lynch has never been late.

“He is on time for practice, water breaks, hell even his lights are off on time,” said assistant head coach Joe DeCamillis.

News of Lynch’s impressive stat has led to many around Chicago to rush to their local sporting goods stores to snag his jersey, but Lynchmania apparently has a stranglehold on the area as there are currently no Lynch No. 36 Bears jerseys in stock in any stores.

“Not everyone can show up on time, but Jordan does,” DeCamillis said. “He is the next Chandler Harnish.”

Harnish is currently a part of the Colts organization and does not have any stats listed on ESPN.com in his two-year NFL career.

Lynchmania hit last season after he put up impressive numbers against struggling Big Ten teams and the best in the Mid-American Conference. His efforts led to a third-place Heisman finish.

“Not many people can make teams like Kent State and Western Michigan look bad,” DeCamillis said. “UMass had real NFL practice squad potential and they looked like chumps against Lynch.”

Lynch is competing for a spot on the Bears roster as a backup running back, but many people believe his best chance of making the club will be with special teams.

When asked if Lynch’s timing improved his chances of making the team, DeCamillio said “It doesn’t hurt him, I guess.”

Added DeCamillio: “Wait. Who are we talking about again?”
