Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was none too pleased when the Cubs fired Dale Sveum Monday afternoon.
“The Cubs could’ve waited to announce it on my radio show just like when the Bears fired Lovie [Smith] while I was on the air,” said Cutler. “That way, it would give me less time to talk about how my teammates, I mean, how I stunk up the joint against Detroit.”
When told of Cutler’s remarks, Theo Epstein dismissed the quarterback.
“Everybody knew Dale was going to get canned anyway, so right after I had my daily Starbucks I made it official. Tell Jay to stick to talking football, not baseball.”
