With an extremely busy sports news week in the city of Boston, the Bruins announcement that 23-year NHL veteran Jaromir Jagr will not be invited to return to the team next season fell a bit under the radar.
Jagr, who is from Czechoslovakia, told sports radio station “The Sports Hub” through an interpreter, he was disappointed he would not return to the team, but was happy the Bruins included the “Learning English” version of the Rosetta Stone language series as part of his severance package.
“Jaromir knows many English words from his 25 years in the U.S.,” Jagr’s interpreter said of the 41-year-old forward. “He often orders meals in English, such as Baconator, Crave Case and Volcano Taco.”
Asked by a reporter to say some parting words in English to the Boston fans, Jagr said, “Yes. Screw you.”
