Now that the most exciting hockey season in years has come to an end, Chicago sports fans fear they must turn attention back to the baseball season.
“Chicago baseball died with the first Mayor Daley,” said South Sider Brian McBride. “I was smart enough to Tivo every Hawks’ game since 2002, so I’m set for the next 10 years.”
“What am I supposed to do now that hockey is done,” Lakeview resident Chad Tutor-Brown told a local radio station. “Since the start of the hockey season in January, I’ve been on a total high. Having to pay attention to the Cubs with no Blackhawks to cheer for is like trying to get off crack.”
Some fans are taking drastic measures to deal with the loss of the NHL.
“I quit my job and I’m moving to Cleveland,” Ricky Morales, a White Sox fan, said. “At least the Indians have a .500 record.”
“Before last year’s baseball season, I moved to Miami, but that didn’t quite work out for me.”
