The St. Louis police department’s blotter overflowed with news about the head of a horse that was found in the bed of Cubs closer Carlos Marmol at a downtown hotel.
A hotel employee said she saw what appeared to be, “a horse’s head with a face that is the spittin’ image of Mr. Ed.”
Earlier this week, Marmol blew a three-run, ninth-inning Cubs lead in a 4-3 loss to the Mets.
While the team would not comment, one Cubs player with knowledge of the incident said, “Whoever did this to Carlos was dead wrong.”
“The perpetrator should have put the other end of the horse in his bed.”
