Cubs bullpen catcher Corey Miller was arrested in Nebraska this weekend carrying more than eight pounds of marijuana in anticipation of celebrating legalization in California.
Miller’s truck was pulled over near Lincoln for speeding when the police officer smelled “something skunky,” he proceeded to search the vehicle. The officer discovered a massive weed stash wrapped in dryer sheets in a suitcase.
“I was actually heading out to Cali since my sales have slowed down since the end of the regular season,” said Miller. “Everyone knows Prop 19 is gonna pass, so I wanted to get out there for the celebration.”
The state trooper was initially suspicious right when he pulled up behind the truck.
“Well, he was only going six over the limit,” said the arresting officer, “but that giant pot leaf on the back windshield got me suspicious.”
