Major League Baseball announced that the first game of the 2012 World Series has been delayed by the potential for rain shortly after moving Game 4 of the ALCS to Thursday because of rain without a single drop of rain falling on Comerica Park.
“Weather can be unpredictable,” said a spokesman for the league. “We know that the Series is still a week away, but who knows what the weather will be like in a week’s time? Or even where the game will be played? It’s all up in the air, and we can’t take that chance. We cant be asked to subject our players and fans to this kind of uncertainty. There’s no uncertainty in baseball!”
