The University of Illinois athletic department issued a pronunciation guide for fans to remember how to pronounce newly hired men’s basketball head coach John Groce’s name.
The release said: “Coach Groce’s name is pronounced ‘gross,’ as in the feeling fans had watching our department attempt to fill this position over the past month.”
