Following a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, the Bears have clinched byes in every round of the 2011 playoffs.
“So we don’t have to worry about that anymore,” said GM Jerry Angelo. “Next question?”
The Bears, while not mathematically eliminated from the hunt, can rest assured that their 4-game losing streak has still somehow clinched their exclusion from the postseason.
“I would say ‘clinch’ is accurate,” said NFL expert Rod Wilson. “They’ve definitely achieved an early ticket home, which is no small feat for a team that started out 7-3.”
