It was another easy win for the Bears Sunday as they blew out the weak Division III San Francisco Tech 49ers 41-10.
The first quarter included a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs by Cedric Benson and Thomas Jones, and ended with a 24-0 Chicago lead, the largest point total after the first 12 minutes of play in Bears franchise history.
The second quarter was keyed by Rex Grossman’s two touchdown passes to Desmond Clark. By halftime, the Bears were ahead 41-0, tying the franchise mark for most points in a half.
San Francisco Tech, whose roster is filled with non-scholarship players, held the Bears scoreless in the second half and scored 10 points of their own but fell short in the end, 41-10. The win further proved Chicago was in a class of its own. SF Tech, meanwhile, fell to dead last in the rankings.
