Bulls guard Derrick Rose won the Rookie of the Year award on Wednesday, beating out Memphis guard O.J. Mayo and four guys nobody’s ever heard of.
Rose led all rookies with 37 minutes per game and 6.3 assists per game. His 16.8 points per game was second to Mayo.
“It feels great to win this award,” Rose said. “There was some stiff competition from, uh, who else got votes? … Who? … Never heard of ’em.”
