When Jacquelyn Witkowski of Barrington found out Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp went under the knife Monday night for an emergency appendectomy, she was very concerned, but not because he might miss the season opener next month.
“Oh my god. How’s his face?” asked Witkowski, a self-described “jersey-chaser” who’s never met Sharp or any of his teammates. “They didn’t have to cut his beautiful face, did they?”
After learning Sharp’s face was unharmed, Witkowski calmed down, but not for long.
“Oh my god. Will there be a scar on his stomach?” asked Witkowski. “Actually, a little scar on Sharpie’s stomach might be kind of sexy.”
