While fans and analysts are focusing on the Bears’ offensive shortcomings, there’s no denying the team misses DE Akiem Hicks who hit injured reserve during the bye week. Desperate to fill the defensive line with a huge presence like Hicks, Chicago signed a John Deere tractor to take his place.
“Akiem clogs the line against the run and frees up the pass rush for guys like Khalil Mack to pressure the quarterback,” said GM Ryan Pace. “It’s almost impossible to find another human capable of what he does, so we found the next best thing.”
The 3,000-pound John Deere 3320 4WD Tractor is expected to make an immediate impact to the Bears’ front four and will start Sunday against the Chargers.
