With Kyle Hendricks on the IL, the Cubs needed someone to step up and that someone was pitching sensation Adbert Alzolay. After Tyler Chatwood started and pitched four solid innings, Alzolay came in relief with four innings of one hit and one run ball to play hero for the Cubs. The fans loved Alzolay and seemed especially smitten with his unusual name.

While Adbert doesn’t exactly appear in any baby naming books, the loyal Cubs fans vowed people would soon become familiar with it.

“I saw seven couples walk out of Wrigley tonight saying to each other, ‘Let’s go make us a little Adbert tonight,” said longtime Cub’s usher Samantha Carrol. “Seven different couples and that is just in the one little spot where people walk past me. If every other usher heard seven other couples saying the same thing? Then you gotta take into account fans watching on TV. It’s gonna be wild.”

Local baby name expert Emily Saunders weighed in as well: “We’ve seen it time and time again with Cubs fans. They love their Cubbies, they love their players and they really love each other. Winning baseball games leads to procreation and that baby has got to be named something. In March of 2020, the world will become familiar with Adbert.”
