Jeremy Colliton had just been named the Blackhawks head coach when he received word the offer came with some whiskers attached.
“They told me I’ve got to grow a gray mustache for as long as I want to coach this team,” said Colliton. “Apparently Hawks fans are so in love with Joel Quenneville’s facial hair that every coach they have in the future has to grow a mustache just like his.”
Since Colliton is only 33, growing gray facial hair will be a challenge.
“I immediately went to Osco to find something to dye mine, but apparently Just for Men only gets rid of gray,” said Colliton. “So now I have no clue what I’m doing … sort of like Stan Bowman I guess.”
