A day after the Cubs’ 2018 season came to a disappointing end, fans and media are speculating on the future of the team, particularly as it relates to their manager Joe Maddon. One fan, who is blissfully unaware of the horrid performance by many former Cubs managers, thinks Maddon should be fired immediately.
“How can anyone justify keeping Maddon? Any stiff off the street could have gotten this team to the postseason,” said Bill Trainor of Park Ridge, who admittedly began following the team just a few years ago and has no idea that just five years ago Dale Sveum’s managerial tenure ended with a .392 winning percentage. “I can’t imagine that the Cubs have ever had a worse manager than that clown.”
