Cubs’ co-owner Laura Ricketts today offered to pay for the apartment of newly acquired infielder Daniel Murphy, so long as he locates himself in Boystown.
A few years ago, Murphy said he disagrees with the “gay lifestyle,” while Ricketts is married to a woman. Ricketts said she hoped living in Boystown would help Murphy understand that gays are regular people too, with the added bonus of the neighborhood’s great proximity to Wrigley Field.
“Daniel’s commute will be just a few minutes each way,” said Ricketts, “and if he feels like checking out a shower show at Hydrate or sexy legs contest at Cocktail on his way home after a game, more power to him.”
