The Chicago Cubs have announced that they will only be giving press credentials to WGN reporters, starting this upcoming season.
“With all the talks of billy goats, curses and infographics on how cheap gas was during the last Cubs’ title, we feel that we have been severely mistreated by ESPN and other large media outlets,” said owner Tom Ricketts.
“And sure, one can argue that Comcast SportsNet tries to play itself off as an objective news source, but everyone knows that they have a southside-leaning agenda.”
Ricketts and the Cubs are also reportedly considering giving Heckler staffers press access, citing its “commitment to transparency and 100 percent factual stories.”
