On Monday the Cubs sent renewal invoices to season ticket holders, revealing an increase in prices averaging 19.5 percent. The club said they considered a much larger increase but wanted to keep it “small” to reward fans for their 108 years of patience during the team’s infamous World Series drought.
“We actually considered a larger increase,” said President of Business Operations Crane Kenney, “but we wanted to reward the fans for their patience with a small increase of just under 20 percent. It’s the right way to do things.”
