With Jay Cutler possibly out for the remainder of the season, and the Bears likely starting fourth string quarterback Matt Barkley this Sunday, former Broncos quarterback and current Mets Minor League player Tim Tebow has spent the past 24 hours repeatedly calling the Bears front office to point out that he is game ready, “you know, if that’s something you might be interested in.”
“We are not looking to add Tim Tebow to our roster,” Bears GM Ryan Pace told the press. “And we’d prefer if Mr. Tebow stopped calling every five minutes, as he’s been tying up our phone lines.”
Multiple reports say Tebow has made over 50 phone calls, during which he asks how the Bears are doing before saying, “Oh that’s cool, I’m good too. You know, I was just doing some push-ups to keep my arms nice and strong. I can throw a football real far still. You know, if that’s something you might be interested in.”
Johnny Manziel also expressed interest in filling in as quarterback for the Bears, but passed a bar offering 2-for-1 shots on the way to Halas Hall, and has not been seen since.
