Due to Joe Maddon’s tendencies to shake things up just hours before a game, fans never know who’s going to end up the roster. Except @mrcub158 and a few other Twitter users who decided tonight’s lineup against the Dodgers.
Maddon said he finalized his roster after consulting the biggest Cubs fans he knows on Twitter early Wednesday afternoon during commercial breaks while watching Family Feud.
“Everyone knows that social media is where you go to the the most accurate, up-to-date information,” Maddon said over a glass of pre-game Syrah. “I mean, look at all the hashtags.”
Down 2-1 in game 4 of the NLCS, starting Jason Heyward in right field and Willson Contreras behind the plate was a “strong, collective decision made among a group of diehard, knowledge-driven” Cubs fans, @mrcub158 told The Heckler in a DM.
“#TheMoreYouKnow” he or she added.
