Les Silverstein knows a thing or two about baseball. He should, after all, since he analyzes the game for Fox Sports. That’s why his hot take on the Cubs 2-1 NLCS deficit against the Dodgers is so insightful.
“You can’t win ballgames if you don’t score runs,” said Silverstein after the Cubs second-straight shutout in L.A. Tuesday night. “That’s why the Cubs need to get the bats going if they want to advance to their first World Series since 1945.”
Silverstein also said that Cubs pitchers need to be more effective.
“The Cubs needed the Jake Arrieta of 2015,” said Silverstein. “The effort they got last night was not enough to win a playoff game on the road.”
Added Silverstein: “Look, it just comes down to scoring more than your opponent. If the Cubs can do that, they should have no trouble winning Game 4.”
