In a huge romantic gesture, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has proposed to longtime girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, by asking her to take his hand in marriage, as well as to take the blame for every single Packers loss for the rest of his career.
Witnesses at the high-end restaurant where the engagement occurred told media outlets that it was “sweet” and that when she said yes, everyone in the establishment broke into spontaneous applause, with only a few instances of diners wearing large novelty foam cheeseheads shouting things like, “His head clearly isn’t in the game anymore” and “He hasn’t been the same Rodgers since he shacked up with that Newsroom chick.”
Rodgers sent out a press release announcing the happy news, stating in part, “I am truly happy to start a life with Olivia. We want to grow old together and be a part of each other’s lives as much as we can. That includes Olivia being destroyed on the Twitter and Facebook feeds of Packers fans when my skills inevitably decay as I pass my prime as a professional football player. I couldn’t be happier that she said yes, and I can’t wait for her to take the blame for the next time I throw multiple interceptions in an otherwise winnable game.”
