Robert Griffin III has joined Underachieving Quarterbacks Anonymous, a support group headed by Jay Cutler.

The third-year Redskins QB lost his job as starter when coach Jay Gruden benched the former top pick because Griffin had a difficult time grasping the team’s complicated offense.

Taking the demotion in stride, Griffin told the Washington Post he was disappointed, but understanding. “I’m not mad because I got benched. I deserve it,” Griffin said. “But lose my job to Colt McCoy? C’mon man!”

Other members of Underachieving Quarterbacks Anonymous include JaMarcus Russell, Tim Couch, Akili Smith and Brady Quinn. The group was founded by former Bears QB Rex Grossman along with Ryan Leaf.

Cutler was elected unanimously as the organization’s president in a run-off against Cade McNown.
