Concerned the video he released Thursday about the Cubs’ next steps in their standoff with Wrigleyville rooftop owners didn’t have the impact he desired, team owner Tom Ricketts today released new footage Friday morning. This missive has a much more ominous tone, with dark smoke billowing behind him from one of the rooftop buildings.
Ricketts didn’t refer to the destruction behind him, but the message was clear: no more Mr. Nice Guy.
“The time to move forward has long passed,” said Ricketts. “The Cubs and Cubs fans will no longer sit by idly while obstructionists block our efforts to improve our ballpark.”
Added Ricketts: “Those who stand in our way have two choices: Comply or be forced to comply.”
