Sidelined the past two weeks with a knee injury, Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has assuaged fears that his mullet will not be ready for the postseason.
“I’ve worked very hard during my time off to cultivate the flow and get the razors just right on the sides,” said Kane. “My mullet will return to the ice in epic, glorious fashion whether we face the Blues or the Avalanche next week.”
Fans were overjoyed at the news.
“Business in the front. Party in the back. Without that mullet, we don’t even make it past the first round last year,” said Hawks fan Todd Benson. “I just hope the layoff hasn’t affected the mullet’s ability to properly sway in the breeze when Kane is celebrating one of his many goals.”
There has been no word yet on the status of Kane’s knee, but a team source said the health and vigor of his mullet should more than make up for any lingering effects.
