Russian President Vladimir Putin may look as if he’s made of stone, but he displayed a glimmer of humanity yesterday after meeting Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp, immediately lifting Russia’s controversial laws against “homosexual propaganda.”
“We may have made a mistake,” said Putin. “What person would not want to grab this man by his face and kiss both cheeks more times than normal social etiquette would call for?”
The Sochi Olympics have been tough on Russia’s image, but witnesses have spotted President Putin giggling and daydreaming since meeting Sharp. The Russian President was even in attendance to see hockey’s Team Canada defeat Norway 3-1 Thursday.
“It is now clear to me that many different type of love exist,” said Putin. “Consider me ‘puck bunny.’”
The President says he is still opposed to the two-man luge.
