When Mississippi St. started their football season back in August, head coach Dan Mullen gathered his players after practice one day an laid out a long list of goals. Tops on that list was winning a bowl game sponsored by a car parts company.
That goal was achieved Tuesday when the Bulldogs beat Rice 44-7 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Next year Mullen said he hopes to build on this success.
“Winning a bowl game sponsored by a car parts company is something every coach dreams of,” said Mullen. “Maybe next year we can win a bowl game sponsored by a credit card or insurance company. That would be something.”
