Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford will throw out the first pitch at a Chicago White Sox game against the Blue Jays next August. Ford has been under fire for alleged improprieties and for exhibiting improper behavior not becoming of a public official.
“It will be a lot of fun having Mayor Ford here,” Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Brooks Boyer said. “In fact, we’re going to do a whole Canadian theme featuring different brands of Canadian beers, and a concession stand with back-bacon sandwiches and other north of the border specialties.”
The Hanson brothers, featured in the movie “Slap Shot,” will sing the Canadian national anthem.
“The mayor was somewhat reluctant to do it, but when he found out he’ll get free Labatt’s and Molson, he jumped at the chance,” Boyer said. In addition to attending the game, Ford will make a personal appearance at gentlemen’s club Heavenly Bodies in Elk Grove Village.
