In an effort to make sure his prediction that hockey would start with the Winter Classic comes true, Barry Melrose has taken it upon himself to bring the lockout to an end. Using the only bargaining chip he has — one of the most famous mullets in the world — he’s laying it all on the table.
“The Winter Classic is my favorite game, and I am willing to go down to just a rat tail if it helps negotiations,” said Melrose.
This is obviously a last ditch effort to try to move negotiations along while maintaining his 90’s street cred. The shocking move from Melrose has left the world of professional sports relatively unchanged, due to it being hockey-related and all major networks refusing to cover the announcement.
