With the majority of the 2013 Cubs roster already playing baseball in Triple-A, the Cubs have decided to hold their annual Cubs Convention at the local La Quinta Inn in Des Moines, Iowa.
The move has surprised many fans, most of whom have been used to the convention being based in Chicago. Though many don’t wish to make the drive, others are concerned about some of the accommodations. However, the 34-room La Quinta Inn has held many small weddings and bar mitzvahs.
“It’s also more indicative of our quality of play,” said GM Theo Epstein.
