NFL commissioner Roger Goodell today absolved former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams of any responsibility for the recent bounty hunting controversy after Williams admitted he was influenced by Rosie from the old Bounty paper towel commercials.
“I think we can all understand where Gregg was coming from,” said Goodell. “There was something about Rosie and those commercials that was pure magic.”
“Dude used to put those commercials on during our meetings,” said former Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, one of the chief bounty instigators. “Watch a few of those things and we were ready to run through a wall.”
