As John Calipari readied his top-ranked Wildcats for March Madness, the oft-maligned Kentucky coach took a few minutes to reflect on the hard work and dedication that’s gotten him where he is today.
“All the work in the off-season, be it by having a stand-in take the SATs for your otherwise academically ineligible star or by looking the other way when another star receives illegal gifts from an agent, success in March and April is the reason you do it,” said Calipari. “Sure, I’ve had numerous seasons wiped out due to these so-called ‘NCAA violations,’ but that’s all just details at this point.”
