Billionaire Cubs owner Tom Ricketts reportedly mentioned to friends Thursday that he might purchase Michael Jordan’s $29 million Highland Park mansion as a “fixer-upper” saying he loves to spend “boatloads of money” on things that require a vast amounts of work.
“We paid nearly $1 billion for the lowly Cubs and their dumpy stadium,” said Ricketts. “So what’s $29 million for a huge mansion that clearly needs a little work.”
Ricketts said that if he’s able to buy Jordan’s mansion, he’ll immediately undertake a great deal of work, starting with replacing all the bathrooms.
“You’ll find this hard to believe, but I heard Jordan’s bathrooms have troughs instead of standard toilets,” said Ricketts. “Can you believe that? What kind of a third-world building uses troughs anymore?”
