With his team mired in a month-long losing streak, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville pulled out the big guns on Tuesday, threatening to shave his mustache if the team doesn’t turn things around.
“I’m not sure how they can play like this and expect to enjoy the sight of my magical mustache every day,” said Quenneville. “It’s time to consider the nuclear option. Either we start winning, or I start trimming.”
Several players expressed anxiety over the possible loss.
“But … he can’t do that … can he?” asked a teary-eyed Patrick Kane. “If I have to start scoring, I will. Just don’t let him get rid of that. Sometimes I wear a fake stache at the bar to pretend I’m him. It drives the girls wild!”
