Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro is back in the news today: This time for trying to duck out of his homeland to avoid unpaid parking tickets he accrued there.
The All-Star 21-year-old was seen attempting to dash past airline security in his Dominican Republic hometown of Monte Cristi dressed as Angels slugger Albert Pujols.
“This is embarrassing,” said a sulking Castro. “I thought [Albert] could get away with anything here.”
When questioned, detaining officer, Juan Palenciar, of the Dominican TSA stated “Luckily we recognized the 165 pound weight difference, and lack of facial hair.”
Castro was detained and released when he payed the 400 Peso fine ($10.33 US).
Once out, an elated Castro declared “I am just happy this run-in with the law is behind me! Now I can focus on baseball in Chicago this season.”
