According to team sources, the 7-7 Chargers have yet to decide whether to get blown out by Detroit on Saturday, or defeat the Lions so they can crush their own fans’ hopes at the last possible moment with a Week 17 loss to the Raiders.
The Chargers, owners of a 6-game winning streak and a pair of 3-game losing streaks this season, could go either way, said QB Philip Rivers.
“Will I show up and throw four picks?” he asked. “Or will it be touchdown mania? Only time will tell, really. Right now I’m leaning toward putting the fans out of their misery this weekend.”
