As fans of the NBA rejoice the lockout’s tentative end, experts have come to a quick consensus that the shortened 66-game 2011-2012 schedule is still approximately 30 games too many.
“Everyone knows 82 games is far too many, but 66 is still too long of a season,” said ESPN basketball analysis Chris Broussard. “A 36-game season would be perfect.”
TNT’s Charles Barkley agreed.
“I’m happy to get back to work, but 66 games?” asked Barkley. “Do we really need that many games to learn the Timberwolves are turrible? I don’t think so.”
