In the third quarter of yesterday’s Thanksgiving game against the Lions, Aaron Rodgers had difficulty understanding the play call coming into his headset from coach Mike McCarthy.
“I was confused,” said Rodgers in his post-game news conference. “I thought I heard him say that he would like the 2 for $20 combo with the Chicken Fettuccine Carbonara, 7 oz. Sirloin, and Mozzarella sticks.”
When asked about it in his own postgame interview, McCarthy shrugged.
“I have no comment on the matter,” he said. “I call the plays and that’s the end of the discussion. If Aaron can’t understand my play calls, then we will look at that this week in practice.”
This confirms what many Bears fans have long suspected: Mike McCarthy’s play sheet is in fact an Applebee’s menu. Upon hearing the news, Mike Martz was seen at the Chili’s on Ontario asking for a copy of their menu and a Big Mouth Burger to go.
