Just a few days after suggesting he might suit up to play, Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice has decided to follow through on the idea and is slated to start at right tackle against the Packers.
“Even at 52 years old, I can’t be any worse than [Frank] Omiyale,” he said. “I mean, look, I can move laterally, so that’s already a step up.”
GM Jerry Angelo hopes Tice can help settle the line, which has been in turmoil for the better part of two years.
“The thing about Mike is that he doesn’t cost me any extra money,” said Angelo. “Plus I didn’t draft him, so there’s a chance he might be great.”
