Just a day after the Miami Heat held a raucous celebration that made Charles Barkley blush to honor their playoff series win over the Celtics, Miami players were surprised to learn there were two more rounds to the playoffs before anyone will be winning the 2011 NBA title.
“Wait, you mean we still have to win eight games before we’re the official champs of everything?” asked LeBron James. “Man, that’s a drag. We’ve already been celebrating this championship for 10 months. Eventually we’re going to win it, right?”
Instead, LeBron and his teammates are only halfway through the playoffs. They’ll play the Bulls in the NBA Eastern Conference finals starting Sunday night. Should they win that, they’ll still have to take on the winner of the Mavs-Thunder series in the West.
“Wow, that’s really a drag,” said LeBron. “When I made my deal with the devil, I mean Dwyane Wade, I was under the impression it would be a lot easier than this. Guess that’s what I get to listening to Satan.”
