Vinny Del Negro brought home his first win at the United Center in two years and his Clippers notched just their sixth win of the season, beating the Bulls 100-99 Saturday night. After the game, Del Negro–the Bulls’ coach from 2008 until last season–was surprised to learn he hadn’t won at his former home arena since 2008.
“Really? You mean my last two seasons here we didn’t win even one game at home?” asked Del Negro. “Hmm. I could have sworn we won at least a game or two against the Timberwolves or Raptors.”
But Del Negro was wrong. His last win in Chicago dates back to Dec. 17, 2008, against the very team he now coaches.
“Huh, so my last win here was against the Clippers?” said Del Negro. “What a bunch of stiffs.”
